MANAGEMENT OF LUV FM, a local radio station in Kumasi, last Saturday turned the entire Kumasi metropolis upside-down with this year’s Annual Old Skuuls Reunion Games, held at the Ridge Park in Kumasi.
An ecstatic crowd, made up of about 5000 old students of various second cycle schools thronged the Ridge Park to partake in the event.
It was a pleasant sight to behold as people were seen dancing and hugging old friends they had lost contact with for years.
This year’s event, dubbed “Onetouch Luv FM Old Skuuls Reunion 2007”, drew old students including old men and women, some in their late sixties, from 52 second cycle schools across the country.
Among the games they participated in were Tug of War, 5-aside football, gari soakings, table tennis, arm wrestling, dancing competition among other interesting games.
In an interview with Beatwaves, Mr. Isaac Adjei Antwi, Sales/Marketing Manager of Luv FM expressed delight about the success of the programme, which was initiated three years ago.
The aim of the programme, he indicated, was to unite old school friends and as well give them the opportunity to reminisce what they used to do in school.
Mr. Adjei Antwi added that the event was also to provide a platform for old friends to discuss national issues.
According to him, the Old Skuuls Reunion Games is currently the biggest outdoor event in the Kumasi metropolis and gave the assurance that it would be organized each year.
The event was climaxed with a big after party at the Kiravi Nite Club, where the crowd danced the night away.
