The lovable, huggable, fun-loving and ever-dancing purple dinosaur, Barney is set to be in Ghana to party with kids this Christmas.
Barney and Santa Claus have for several years remained adorable characters for kids all over the world and on Sunday December 9, Barney would come to Ghana all the way from the UK to party with kids at the National Theatre.
While learning good morals through singing and dancing with “delightful Barney”, kids at the venue would be treated to mouth-watering snacks, assorted dishes and soft drinks from the food court as well as games from the games area, and parents may even purchase gifts from the shopping arena.
A release received by the organizers, Charterhouse, indicated that for only GH¢12 each kid is assured of a wonderful time with Barney and friends together with Santa Claus, who would be giving away thousands of souvenirs.
Targeted at children as young as two years and above, the occasion, Christmas with Barney, is the first of its kind in Ghana.
Barney is a seven-foot purple-costumed dinosaur, who stars in the very popular children’s TV show Barney and Friends, currently showing on GTV on Saturdays.
Children all over the world have a unique bonding with Barney and Friends because of the exciting nature in which Barney teaches them to be good and happy with themselves.
The character came into being in 1987 in direct-sale videos created by Dallas teacher Sheryl Leach. The tapes caught the eye of the Public Broadcasting System, who put Barney and Friends on air in 1992.
Tickets for the Barney Live in Ghana event are selling at Koala, Joy FM, Dealer Book Shop, the National Theatre and in schools.
“Barney Live in Ghana” is sponsored by Virgin Nigeria, Vitamalt Plus, Cresta Atlantic Resort and Bournvita.
