The Green Park Hotel was beehive of a massive party last week Saturday when Mr. & Mrs. Agunbiade hosted important celebrities like Alhaji Sidiku Buari and Ms. Latoya Aduke during the celebration of their Golden Jubilee of marriage
Whereas Sidiku Buari confined himself to his chair and table, Latoya Aduke was busy doing what she knows how to do best - dancing.
Her dancing in front of her husband Orlando Julius thrilled the many personalities who stormed the venue of the party.
Orlando Julius, now resident in Accra with his band has a rich music history, having written all the Yoruba songs rendered by the South African music maestro, Hugh Masekela.
Many well-wishers came from Lagos to grace the occasion. Accra is fast becoming venue for parties by Nigerians, many of who come here to organize their social functions at the leading hotels, a development which has added to the enhanced economic and social image of Ghana.
The two countries have enjoyed a long-standing relationship spanning close to two centuries, a period dotted with intermarriages and a common bond of having been one time colonies of Imperial Britain.
The Agunbiades, both of Ghanaian and Nigerian descent are testimonies of the intermarriages that have taken place between the peoples of the two countries. Both husband and wife have both Yoruba and Ga blood.
Activities marking the 50th milestone of their marriage started at their Ebony area residence at Dzorwulu. Their childrean came from Nigeria and the US to witness the historic festivity.
