The British Council in partnership with Tigo, University of Westminster and CharterHouse Ghana, is launching the first ever groundbreaking, unscripted Reality Game Show, designed to give three bright young ambitious Ghanaian university graduates the opportunity to study under postgraduate scholarships at three leading universities in the UK.
The show, dubbed ‘The Challenge’ is an Education UK Reality Game Show. Out of thousands of applicants the show would select 25 lucky individuals who would have to demonstrate academic excellence, leadership competencies, as well as character and creativity.
The 25 candidates would go through a series of interviews by a panel of eminent jurists, who would shortlist the candidates to 12 to participate in the Reality Game Show.
The 12 finalists would receive extensive personal and professional development training and compete with each other in a series of weekly tests, tasks and quizzes in management, leadership, creativity and UK-Ghana trivia.
The contestants would be adjudged by a 3-member Scholarship Committee named “THE BOARD”, to be made up of renowned academicians and business leaders.
Depending on performance against set criteria, one contestant would be ‘fired’ by the general public through SMS voting every week. Eight (8) out of the 12 contestants would be fired (evicted) over an eight-week period.
The 4 remaining contestants would go head-to-head in a grand finale to determine who qualifies for the grand prize.
The ultimate winner would go away with a full board postgraduate scholarship from the University of Westminster valued at £40,000, fully paid accommodation in an international students’ hostel, a monthly living allowance, a return air ticket to the UK valid for one year and a brand new laptop computer.
On completion of the post-graduate course the ultimate prize winner would return to Ghana to pick up a pre-arranged lucrative job placement and a brand new car.
The two runners-up would each receive one-year postgraduate scholarship and accommodation from London Metropolitan and Thames Valley Universities. In addition, they would receive return air-tickets and living allowance.
‘The Challenge’, which would run for 12 weeks on TV3, would afford the general public the opportunity to participate as studio audience and also via weekly SMS prize draws and eviction voting.
British Council invites thousands of Ghanaian first degree graduates to compete for the scholarships at Britain's top universities including the 1st prize scholarship from the University Of Westminster, UK.
