An Accra-based radio station, Citi FM, on Tuesday presented a cheque for GH¢3775 to Madam Ama Sumani, a Ghanaian woman who was deported from the UK while receiving dialysis treatment for badly damaged kidneys.
The amount is to help pay for her medical treatment at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
The 39-year-old was living in Cardiff on a student visa, but had been out of school for more than a year, following a kidney problem she developed after receiving Cancer treatments.
CITI FM presented the cheque to her at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital on Tuesday.
Last week the station appealed to listeners to donate towards Madam Sumani’s dialysis treatment at Korle-Bu. Tears ran down her face as she received the donation.
